From Scotland, my favourite Russian team is CSKA. I first came across the club in a Europa League game a few years ago. Then I started following the leagues and loved it. I am very interested in Soviet history, so I enjoy learning about the Russian clubs during those years.

Even though Kokorin was not quite outstanding in Russia's short World Cup campaign, it is safe to say that he was their best player. Of course Kokorin will be gutted that he put that free header against Belgium just wide, but he made up for it in the Algeria game with his brilliant rocket header. Alexander Kokorin is the future of Russian football. He is still young and has time to become a global football star and right now he is well on course to do just that. Kokorin has been very important for Dynamo Moscow and the Russian National Team this season. On May 15th, CSKA Moscow won the league for the second time in a row with Zoran Tosic scoring the only goal of the game. It was a fantastic finish to the season for CSKA, as they swept their final 10 matches to edge out Zenit and Lokomotiv for the title.
