El Sardinero, in Cantabria, was home to some of the most impressive footballers of the Spanish La Liga back in the 1990s. The first time I saw Dmitri Radchenko in action was back in 1993 when he played for Racing de Santander and although my father had already told me about his deeds at Spartak Moscow, I was probably too young to understand how good of a player he was and information on Russian football was at the time fairly scarce here in Portugal.
